Article summary

Summary

This release includes a range of new features, improvements, and bug fixes that further improve the user experience and performance of our software. From an improved scheduler to improved software performance and bug fixes. Because a lot of work is being done behind the scenes on major themes such as renewing the reservation module, the number of newly introduced functionalities in this update is less than you may be used to. Read on to learn more about this update.

Release type: Minor (This release does not include high-risk updates that require additional testing attention on UAT).

Gfacility Test Environment (UAT)

New features and improvements

The following new features and improvements are now available on the Gfacility test environment.

Schedule Board Improvements

The following improvements have been made to the scheduler:

  • The methodology for selecting filters has been changed to match the other modules, which contributes to a uniform user experience.

  • Service bookings with the status "declined" are now displayed in red on the scheduler.

Removed restriction on number of symbols

Previously, there was a restriction on the number of symbols allowed in the description field and communication panel. This restriction is removed. So you can use an unlimited number of symbols.

Gfacility Manufacturing (PROD)

New features and improvements

The following new features and enhancements are available on the Gfacility production environment.

Performance improvements

In the last 2 weeks, several performance improvements have been made that should make the software noticeably faster. This is not the end point, but a first set of improvements. In the coming period, work will be done on further optimisations of the speed of the software.

Multiple domain support for Outlook/Google add-in

To make use of the add-in, validations were performed on the logged-in user's domain in the past. This had to be the same as the domain of the environment in Gfacility. Because more than one domain is sometimes used, we have removed this validation. As a result, the add-on can now also be used from other domains, as long as the user has an active license for the environment itself.

Bug fixes

Several improvements and bug fixes have been made to the production environment:

  • Closed reports were not visible to establish relationships between reports. Now it is.

  • Due to exceptions in meeting series, some room reservations remained visible in the schedule board even after they were removed from a recurrence. This has been fixed.

  • The visitor's pass for internal employees was checked by default when registering visitors via the add-on. This is no longer the case. Only for external visitors, the tick "register at the reception" is automatically checked.

  • When you click on a link in an email on a mobile device, you will automatically be redirected to the mobile app if it is installed.

Note

The latest changes have been rolled out to Gfacility. Any updates in the productionenvironment (PROD) will be immediately reflected to all users. Changes made to the test environment (UAT) will be transferred to the production environment with the next release (08/06/2024). Gfacility invites you to test these and submit your feedback through the Gfacility support portal using the template UAT Feedback.
